Acoustic Ceiling Boards and Accessories

Acoustic Ceilings (Mineral Fibre Ceilings or Fiberglass Ceilings)

Usage Benefits:

Noise Reduction through Volume and Echo Control:

Have you ever stepped into a room that is too noisy, or has a lot of echo? (Try to remember the last time you went to mass in a cavernous church – I’m sure the that there was significant echo).

Have you ever tried to work in a noisy coffee shop of library where you could hear what the table next to you was gossiping about?

Did you know that 65% of people in the average office are unsatisfied with the acoustic quality of their workspace, and that they spend 62% of their time doing quiet work or focus and concentration heavy work?

Acoustic boards control the volume and echo levels inside rooms. It reduces volume, measured in decibels (dB), and the echo, measured in reverberation time (RT60).

These items can change your room’s sound from this to  0.5 second reverberation time

Hear the Difference:

Best applicable in enclosed, air-conditioned spaces like offices, board rooms, libraries, study halls, classrooms, patient rooms, restaurants, call centres, auditoriums, theatres, admin areas, hallways and in dining areas – or places where there people talk.

Installing acoustic ceilings in a cement room is just as good a sound treatment as installing carpet on the floor. It also more effective than using egg cartons (a commonly used acoustic treatment) except that its fire rated and won’t sag.

Light Reflectance:

Light Reflectance (LR) of 83-90% results in energy savings: 23% lighting and 7% cooling system. High light reflectance reduces glare and shadows which improve focus during quiet work

Non sag with Relative Humidity Factor RH 95-100 and 10 year product defect warranty

Fire Resistance:

Fire Rating: Class A
•Acoustic boards have high  fire ratings, and have similar performance to inorganic materials such as bricks and tile.
•Takes 30 minutes before it burns and produces smoke
•Armstrong also has variants which are completely fire resistant

Each ceiling has micro perforations that absorb sound. So please don’t paint over the holes.

Design Options:

When designing a room, you may opt to use a higher –NRC board so that you don’t have to fill up the entire ceiling. This can help you save 13% on cost and give you flexible and classy design options, similar to those below:

Installation:

Maintenance: Brush lightly with a feather duster every month to remove the dust and dirt. If ever it gets extra dirty, you may clean very lightly with a damp cloth.
